The head of Gagauzia Hutsul congratulated the residents of the autonomy on the New Year

On January 1, the head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, congratulated the residents of the autonomy on the New Year from her prison cell.

"I sincerely congratulate you on the upcoming New Year and Merry Christmas! <...> On these magical days, we especially appreciate the warmth of family and the support of loved ones. We believe that all the bad things will forever remain in the past, and ahead of us there will be changes for the better and joyful events," the message on the Telegram channel says.

The head of Gagauzia added that the outgoing year has become a serious test both for Gagauzia and for the whole of Moldova. Nevertheless, the people have demonstrated outstanding resilience and fortitude, overcoming all difficulties thanks to their faith and deep love for their native land.

Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin posted a New Year's greeting for Russians. He wished his fellow citizens health, well-being and mutual understanding, as well as those nearby who support them and allow them to move forward.
