Boarding trains using biometrics will be launched on trains to Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo and Kostroma in the first quarter of 2026. This was announced on January 1 by the press service of Russian Railways (RZD).

"It is expected that the service will become available for testing by passengers on the same routes in the first quarter of 2026, after the focus group summarizes the test results," RIA Novosti quoted a Russian Railways message.
