The VAT rate in Russia has increased to 22% since January 1, 2026
With the onset of 2026, the VAT rate in the Russian Federation increased from 20% to 22% — the relevant law signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 28, 2025, entered into force on January 1. This is evidenced by a document published on the portal of the official publication of legal acts.
It is noted that the preferential rate has been maintained for socially important goods and is still 10%.
