The annual New Year's address to the new year 2026 by Russian President Vladimir Putin lasted 3 minutes and 20 seconds. This is evidenced by the video recording of the leader's address on December 31.

Putin addressed the citizens from the Kremlin. Residents of Chukotka and Kamchatka, where the time difference with Moscow is 9 hours, were the first to hear the video message.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated residents and guests of the capital on the New Year, a video message was published on MAX. He noted that in the new year there are already visible positive changes in the capital, such as new metro stations and roads, new residential areas and industrial buildings, polyclinics and hospitals, schools and kindergartens, as well as parks and sports complexes.
