Sergei Sobyanin wished Moscow residents a Happy New Year
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated residents and guests of the capital on the New Year.
"The New Year is a time of hope and beginnings. I believe that new achievements are waiting for us ahead. May all your dreams come true in the new year. May there be more joy in your families," he said in a video message posted on Facebook.
He noted that in the new year there are already visible positive changes in Moscow, such as new metro stations and roads, new residential areas and industrial buildings, polyclinics and hospitals, schools and kindergartens, as well as parks and sports complexes.
In addition, Sobyanin thanked the Muscovites for their hard work, generosity, strong character and love for the city.
Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a traditional greeting on the occasion of the upcoming new year. In his video message, he wished the Russians health, happiness, mutual understanding and well-being, and also addressed the soldiers of the special military operation (SVO) with words of gratitude for taking upon themselves the responsibility to fight for the Motherland and the truth.
