By the end of 2027, control over migration to Russia will be strengthened
It is planned to create an information system for monitoring the movement of foreign citizens in Russia by the end of 2027, and a system for biometric identification of foreigners will be launched in 2026. This is evidenced by the government's migration policy plan on December 31.
"Creation of an information system for monitoring the movements of foreign citizens. The deadline is December 10, 2027," TASS cites the text of the document.
It is specified that work on the implementation of the plan will be carried out with the participation of the regions by the police, the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance. According to the agency, the Russian Interior Ministry will gain access to international flight booking systems and create an information system for analyzing open sources.
Russian Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on migration on December 23 that the location and activities of each migrant must be verified by the authorities, otherwise the migrant must be deported. He visited Sheremetyevo airport, where an experiment is underway to collect biometric personal data of all migrants at the border.
