The animated film "Zootopia 2" has become the highest-grossing project in the history of Disney, having already grossed $1.46 billion. This was reported by Variety magazine on December 31.
"Zootopia 2" earned $333 million domestically and as much as $1.13 billion abroad. Over the Christmas weekend, the film skyrocketed at the box office in its fifth week of release, adding $87.9 million to an already impressive total.
It is specified that the sequel surpassed the previous record holder of 2019, "Cold Heart 2," which was able to raise $ 1.45 billion. The new cartoon reached the planned milestone of $1 billion in just 17 days from the release date and, according to the publication, has become especially popular in China.
The joint Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" was awarded the Grand Prix of the Pyongyang International Film Festival. The film also won the award for best director.
