President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Ruslan Magomedov, head of the country's national securities and stock market commission. The relevant decree was published on the website of the Ukrainian president on Wednesday, December 31.

The reasons for the decision are not specified.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak noted in his Telegram channel that Magomedov was close to the former head of Zelensky's office, Andrei Ermak, who had also been fired earlier amid a corruption scandal.

On December 27, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) uncovered a criminal group that included deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. As a result, three deputies were charged with obtaining illegal benefits. Evgeny Pivovarov, Igor Negulevsky and Yuri Kisel were suspected.

Earlier, on December 24, the Ukrainian Center for Social and Marketing Research SOCIS reported that almost 40% of Ukrainians are convinced that President Volodymyr Zelensky is involved in a corruption scheme in his entourage.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
