A strong flash occurred on the Sun

For the first time in three days, there was a strong solar flare. This was announced on December 31 on the website of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is noted that the outbreak peaked at 16:51 Moscow time, and was given a score of M7.1.

Also on the night of December 31, the Sun produced eight ordinary Class C flares.

On December 29, three strong Class M flares were recorded on the Sun. It was clarified that the first outbreak lasted from 00:03 to 00:23 Moscow time, its maximum occurred at 00:13 Moscow time. The second, the longest, was observed from 01:01 to 01:54 Moscow time and peaked at 01:39 Moscow time, its power was M4.2.
