- The Ministry of Transport reported on the control of the situation with air transportation in difficult weather conditions.
The Ministry of Transport is monitoring the situation with air transportation in the regions in difficult weather conditions. This was announced on December 31 in the press service of the department.
Thus, in the Kaliningrad direction, it is noted that 24 aircraft that went to alternate airfields returned to the schedule.
"The passengers of the cancelled flights have been taken out. Aeroflot has deployed wide—body airliners for operational transportation - three such aircraft have already completed flights. Flights at Kaliningrad airport are gradually returning to the schedule. The number of delays due to bad weather is steadily decreasing," the ministry said.
It is also noted that Sochi Airport has returned to normal operation. At the same time, adverse weather conditions in the region continue to make adjustments to airline flight schedules.
In addition, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports are also operating normally. Minor adjustments are possible in the flight schedule of the Moscow air hub due to the need to douse aircraft with de-icing liquid, the Ministry of Transport noted.
A day earlier, it was reported that Vnukovo Airport accepts and dispatches flights by agreement due to the introduction of temporary restrictions on the use of airspace. Artem Korenyako, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, noted that measures had been taken to ensure flight safety.
