In 2025, the wealth of the 500 richest people in the world increased by a record $2.2 trillion. This was reported by Bloomberg on December 31.

"About a quarter of the total increase recorded by the Bloomberg wealth index came from just eight people, including Oracle Chairman of the board of directors Larry Ellison, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Alphabet co—founder Larry Page and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos," the material says.

According to the agency, the combined wealth of billionaires has reached $11.9 trillion. Capital growth was "significantly accelerated" by the victory in the US presidential election of Donald Trump at the end of 2024. It is also noted that the euphoria from artificial intelligence (AI) continued to support the shares of the largest American companies.

On December 19, Forbes magazine reported that American entrepreneur and billionaire Musk became the first person in history with a fortune exceeding $700 billion. At the same time, the second richest man in the world is the co-founder of the American technology company Google, Larry Page, with $253 billion.
