The Kamchatka Territory and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug became the first regions of Russia where the year 2026 has arrived.

Time in both regions is 9 hours ahead of Moscow time: at 15:00 on December 31, Moscow time in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Anadyr, it is already 00:00 on January 1.

At the same time, the New Year's wizard Santa Claus is already traveling over Russia. Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin instructed the Federal Air Transport Agency to organize the unhindered movement of Santa Claus's sleigh on New Year's Eve so that children across the country receive their gifts on time.
