The Russian Ambassador named the date of the G20 Foreign ministers' meeting in 2026.

The G20 foreign Ministers' meeting, chaired by the United States, will be held on October 30-31, 2026. This was announced on December 31 by the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-Large for the Group of Twenty, APEC and the Greater Eurasian Partnership (BEP), Marat Berdyev.

"During the year, five thematic ministerial conferences on the stated issues will be held, as well as a meeting of the foreign ministers on October 30-31," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the Ambassador, four expert formats have been created in preparation for the event, focusing on key issues: trade, innovation, energy and deregulation in order to stimulate economic growth.

Berdyev stressed that the Russian side is committed to productive and equal cooperation within the framework of the G20 in order to achieve practical results in the field of the global economy. He also noted that special attention will be paid to strengthening the global economic system and developing trade and financial mechanisms, taking into account the interests of the countries of the Global South and East, while offering a depoliticized approach to solving these tasks.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on December 24 that the G20 is primarily an economic association where priority is given to discussing economic issues.

Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the presidential administration, said in November that Russia was ready to work in the G20 as part of Washington's upcoming presidency of the group in 2026. According to him, Moscow supports everything that concerns moving forward, removing barriers and reforming institutions, as well as reducing risks to the global economy.
