If during a telephone conversation we are talking about the "unified register" or "electronic summonses", this is a clear signal that the person is dealing with fraudsters, and not with a representative of the military enlistment office. This was reported by TASS on December 31, after reviewing the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

According to departmental documents, there are four main markers that will help determine whether a call from the "military enlistment office" is fraud. In particular, we need to be wary if we are talking about a "single registry" or "electronic summonses".

As explained in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this registry works automatically and does not involve the participation of an operator. Another common technique of scammers posing as employees of the military enlistment office is intimidation. If an unknown person on the phone starts threatening with a subpoena or consequences, the best tactic is to interrupt the dialogue, block the number and contact law enforcement agencies or the Ministry of Finance.

It clarifies that special care should be taken when receiving calls from unknown numbers. Fraudsters often resort to calls from regular mobile or hidden numbers. The fourth alarm signal indicating a fake call from the military enlistment office is a text message code request. Attackers, posing as employees of the military enlistment office, may ask you to name the code under the pretext of confirming or updating information. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that these are common fraudulent schemes, and strongly recommends that you never share SMS codes with unknown people.

Liana Kamalieva, a member of the Union of Blogging Lawyers at the Kutafin Moscow Law Law Institute at the Russian Bar Association, reported earlier that day that on the eve of the New Year, fraudsters use the dulled vigilance of citizens: schemes with the purchase of gifts, non-existent sweepstakes and the rental of non-existent apartments are now the most popular. It was clarified that in the fraudulent environment, fake websites are most relevant, the design of which imitates popular marketplaces. By placing an order, the buyer pays for the product, which is not sent to him, and the site is deleted after a while.
