Starting from January 1, Russia will introduce an exemption from personal income tax (personal income tax) and insurance premiums for payments made to employees in connection with the birth of a child, provided that the amount of such payments does not exceed 1 million rubles. Natalia Poluyanova, a member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, told about this on December 31.

"In Russia, starting from January 1, 2026, a rule will come into effect aimed at additional support for families and creating more comfortable conditions for parents. We are talking about increasing tax—free financial assistance from employers at the birth or adoption of a child to 1 million rubles," the deputy said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Poluyanova, families will be able to take full advantage of the full amount of support they receive, as it will be paid without any deductions. This will give them the opportunity to direct these funds to the most urgent needs during the initial period of the baby's life.
