Fraudsters have developed a new scheme of deception, they convince drivers to transfer money to them for allegedly canceling their traffic police fines. The materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation attest to this on December 31.

So, according to the documents reviewed by RIA Novosti, in addition to this scheme, the attackers have a number of other ways that they use to deceive people.

For example, they inform a citizen that his close relative was allegedly responsible for an accident and offer to "resolve the issue" or contact people and offer them their help in obtaining a driver's license, demanding a 100% prepayment.

On the same day, Liana Kamalieva, a member of the Union of blogging Lawyers at the Kutafin Moscow Law Law Institute at the Russian Bar Association, spoke about the most common New Year's fraud schemes. According to her, fake sweepstakes are actively spreading on social networks and messengers this holiday season, where they promise prizes for transferring funds or specifying an SMS code, as well as phishing sites of well-known marketplaces are being created. The woman also stressed that during the New Year season, schemes with fake fines and delivery notifications, where they ask you to click on a dangerous link and provide your card details, do not lose their relevance.
