On December 31, Sergei Shevchenko, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who voluntarily surrendered, told how he helped a wounded Russian serviceman, and then surrendered to him and his colleagues in Gulyai-Pole, Zaporizhia region.

Baba Yaga (heavy UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.) It's buzzing. Once — the check flies off, bang — the roof is down. Something fell on top of me. I see that my "roof" has swum (head. — Ed.)," he recalls, talking to RIA Novosti.

Shevchenko shared that when he woke up, he heard a scream coming from a nearby military man, to whom he decided to turn to find out if he was Russian or Ukrainian. Realizing that the victim was a soldier of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian militant bandaged him and gave him painkillers.
