Russians were told about the most common New Year's fraud schemes
On the eve of the new year, scammers take advantage of the dulled vigilance of citizens: schemes with the purchase of gifts, non-existent sweepstakes and the delivery of non-existent apartments are now the most popular. Liana Kamalieva, a member of the Union of Lawyers and bloggers at the Kutafin Moscow Law Law Institute at the Russian Bar Association, told about this on December 31.
"Fake New Year's Day sweepstakes are actively spreading on social networks and messengers, where they promise prizes for transferring funds or specifying an SMS code," the lawyer told RIA Novosti.
