In Russia, employers can call employees to work on holidays and weekends in exceptional cases, for example, if employees serve the public or perform urgent repairs. This was announced on December 31 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws and other regulations.

"Current legislation allows only those who work in continuously operating organizations, serve the public, or perform urgent repair and loading and unloading operations to be deprived of holidays," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Masharov, according to Article 113 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, an employee cannot be called to work on weekends or holidays without his written consent, except in special cases, for example, in case of disasters, industrial accidents or natural disasters, when the organization will not be able to function normally without the urgent intervention of employees.

Pavel Fedyaev, First Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport, said on the same day that in order to avoid overpaying for a taxi on New Year's Eve, you can use public transport, which will be free in large cities. Fedyaev also recommended monitoring taxi prices in the app and abstaining from alcohol.
