On December 30, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called on his foreign colleagues to condemn US President Donald Trump for his threats against Tehran. Araqchi called such statements a gross violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations (UN).

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country stressed that the creation of an atmosphere of impunity has pushed the United States and the Israeli regime to continue aggressive behavior and poses a direct threat to global peace and security," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

According to the agency, Araqchi sent a written protest against Washington's provocative actions to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Chairman of the UN Security Council and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.

On December 30, the website of the United States Department of the Treasury (USDT) reported that the United States had issued new sanctions against Iran on the issue of nuclear nonproliferation. Three organizations from Iran have been added to the Office of Foreign Assets Control's (OFAC) list of Special Categories (SDN), five Iranians and one Venezuelan citizen have also been added to the list.
