Turkish Airlines cancelled over 60 flights on December 31 due to bad weather.
More than 60 domestic flights scheduled for December 31 were canceled in Turkey due to adverse weather conditions. This was announced on the evening of December 30 by the head of the press service of Turkish Airlines, Yahya Ustyun.
"Dear passengers! Due to the expected adverse weather conditions in the eastern and inner regions of our country, 61 flights scheduled for December 31 have been canceled," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
To this message, he attached a link to his company's website, where he urged travelers to track information about their flight and its status.
According to the FlightAware portal, on December 27, more than 5,000 flights were delayed in the United States due to snowfall, and 862 more were canceled. John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports in New York warned passengers about the adverse weather, and Newark Airport recommended spending more time on the road and passing checks.
