Unresolved challenges remain in the process of achieving peace in the Middle East. This was announced on December 30 by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"We have achieved great success, but we still have a lot to do. One of the tasks that we need to accomplish is the disarmament of Hamas," he said in an interview with Newsmax, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel.

The Washington Post reported on December 29 that Netanyahu, at a meeting with the head of the White House, Donald Trump, would try to get Washington's permission to strike Iran's missile sites. It was clarified that the Prime Minister also intends to get the American president to take a tougher stance on the Gaza Strip and demand that the Hamas movement completely disarm before the withdrawal of Israeli troops as part of the second stage of the United States peace plan.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
