Russian Ambassador to Canada Stepanov said about the agony of the Zelensky regime
The political regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in agony and nothing — neither financial nor legal support from outside — will save him. This was announced on Tuesday, December 30, by Russian Ambassador to Ottawa Oleg Stepanov, commenting on the Canadian government's desire to provide Kiev with $1.8 billion (Canadian $2.5 billion).
"Regardless of how these loan guarantees are formally classified, it is obvious that they only prolong the agony of the terrorist regime in Kiev. No financial or material support is able to save him," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, this "pro-Ukrainian step" by Ottawa demonstrates its short-sightedness, as it invests its taxpayers' money in a project that is obviously not profitable for itself. The funds that are planned to be transferred to Zelensky, as Stepanov stressed, will never return to Canada.
On December 27, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the allocation of additional financial support to Ukraine in the amount of $1.83 billion. He made the corresponding statement during his talks with Zelensky, which took place in Halifax. This decision, Carney said, will help unlock funding from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to launch the "recovery process."
