On December 29, Archpriest Vasily Kiyko died in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) at the age of 62. This was reported on December 30 on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church.
"As a result of the fighting on December 29, 2025, at the age of 62, Archpriest Vasily Kiyko tragically died," the publication says.
Kiyko, who was born on January 1, 1964 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, received his secondary education in the village of Chaplino. After serving in the Soviet Army (1985-1987), he began his church ministry at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Novoekonomichoe. In 1991, he was ordained a deacon, and then a presbyter.
For many years, he served as rector in various parishes of the Donetsk diocese, and since 1997 he has been the head of the Intercession Church in Grishino. In 1999, he was promoted to the rank of archpriest. The man was the rector of the Church of the Intercession in the village of Grishino, Red Army district, Donetsk People's Republic.
