Businessman Kolesnikov spoke about the proposal to head the SBR
On December 30, Sergey Kolesnikov, managing partner of Technonicol, a businessman, said that he had been offered to become the head of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU).
"They had very careful conversations with me on this topic. But I refused, because participation as president of any federation requires personal involvement and personal time, and immersion in the work of the federation. It's been hard for me over time," he said in an interview with RBC.
Kolesnikov added that he was ready to help the SBR with financing. He also noted that he did not want a bigger workload and therefore was not ready to lead the union.
On December 19, Sergey Averyanov, head of the press service of the Russian Biathlon Union, said that the International Biathlon Union (IBU) refused to consider the claim in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) about the non-admission of Russian athletes in an expedited manner. He also clarified that the RBU has sent an official request to the IBU regarding the admission of boys and juniors.
