Elizaveta Kulikova, a clinical psychologist and methodologist at the Laboratory of Telepsychology at Pirogov University, expressed the opinion that video games can positively affect brain function, including the development of memory and concentration. In conversation with Lenta. On Tuesday, December 30, she noted that attitudes towards video games have become more positive in recent years, as studies have shown their ability to enhance brain activity.

According to her, computer games can contribute to the development of perception and the ability to fix objects, the formation of visual-spatial thinking, as well as improve attention, reaction speed and memory. The specialist emphasized that gamification and special effects develop the skill of multitasking and generally have a neuroplastic effect.

At the same time, Kulikova clarified that not all games are equally useful: strategies are the best "simulator" of cognitive skills, since they require planning and forecasting. She also added that shooters and action games, due to their dynamics and visual saturation, can positively affect attention, memory and concentration.

At the same time, the expert recalled that excessive time at the computer can negatively affect health, including lead to visual impairment, impaired posture and other problems.

On December 4, she reported that Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina said that the first Moscow International Video Game Week, which took place from November 27 to November 30, attracted more than 150,000 visitors.
