Sergunina appreciated the work of the Library of Moscow service
In less than five years, residents of the capital have booked more than a million books using the Library of Moscow service. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.
"In the project, Muscovites can find collections of publications on various topics, receive personal recommendations from artificial intelligence, learn about lectures, exhibitions and other events in libraries," Sergunina said.
The service was launched in April 2021 on the capital's portal. mos.ru . The electronic catalog of the platform combines information about the collections of all 440 city libraries. It contains 15 million copies of publications. Collections of books for different ages are regularly posted on the main page of the service. Some of those presented now are devoted to the Great Patriotic War, history, cinema, and cosmonautics.
In 2018, a library modernization program was launched in the capital. First, they were connected to a common information system. This made it possible to introduce a single reader's ticket (ECB) for all sites. The launch of the Library of Moscow service was the next stage. In 2023, it introduced an AI-based recommendation system. She offers the reader individual selections based on previously selected books.
As noted in the Moscow Department of Information Technology, to book and extend the shelf life of publications, you will need a standard or full account on mos.ru and the ECB. It can be arranged online or in any city library. The development of the e-government infrastructure in Moscow is carried out within the framework of the national project "Data Economics and Digital Transformation of the State" and the Moscow regional project "Digital Public Administration".
