- A batch of mandarins from China was detained on the Chelyabinsk border with Kazakhstan
In the Chelyabinsk region, the delivery of Chinese tangerines and other citrus fruits was blocked on the border between Russia and Kazakhstan. The reason for the import ban is a discrepancy in the data in the accompanying documents.
The press service of the Ural Interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Administration of the <url> news agency explained that the labeling indicated that the products were intended for the Samara region, and in the documents - for Yekaterinburg.
We are talking about banning two shipments of citrus fruits with a total weight of 37 tons. The agency clarifies that on December 29, the transportation of 17.7 tons of tangerines and 1.3 tons of oranges was stopped. On December 30, 18 tons of oranges were not allowed across the border for the same reason.
Drivers of vehicles transporting fruits were brought to administrative responsibility. After that, the trucks with the products were returned to Kazakhstan.
At the end of November, it was reported that almost 20 tons of mandarins from China infected with a dangerous pest were not allowed to enter St. Petersburg. The whole party was destroyed. During the phytosanitary control, the department's staff discovered a live puparium. The examination showed that the tangerines are infected with the thorny mountain whitefly. This quarantine facility was identified for the first time when imported quarantined products were imported into Russia.
