The new Moscow landmark "Matryoshka of Moscow", which has no analogues in the world, has already become a popular tourist attraction and one of the centers of digital art in Russia. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"The innovative landmark, which was opened with the support of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, has already become a new point of attraction in the capital. This is a full-fledged platform for exploring Moscow and the whole of Russia. From the idea to the launch, the project was created by a team of metropolitan engineers. All key components were produced at the enterprises of the city. At the same time, there are no analogues in the world of such speed and variability of transformation of media screens in structures of this size," Liksutov noted.

The premiere of the first digital show on the Matryoshka of Moscow took place on September 13, the City Day. The show "The Birth of a Matryoshka Doll" was dedicated to the achievements of the capital and the cultural heritage of Russia.

"Matryoshka of Moscow. The New Point of Attraction, a multimedia facility combining the functions of a tourist center and a platform for the demonstration of digital art, opened in 2025 in Zaryadye Park. The name was inspired by a traditional Russian toy, while the matryoshka doll is just one of the many shapes that an object can take.

The retractable structure reaches a maximum height of 22 m in just 4.5 minutes. The basis of this design consists of 30 rings made of aviation aluminum and stainless steel reinforced with titanium plates, on which 1.5 thousand media screens are fixed. Each screen can extend up to 1 meter and tilt 45 degrees up and down.

During the multimedia show dedicated to the City Day, the audience was interactively told about the achievements of Moscow and the rich culture of Russia. On National Unity Day, the guests were able to gain new knowledge about the geographical and cultural landscapes of the country.

In January, Muscovites and guests of the capital can watch a unique digital interpretation of "The Nutcracker" in the format of a fairy tale to the melodies of P. I. Tchaikovsky, as well as travel through the New Year traditions of different times.
