The political scientist assessed the pace of mobilization in Ukraine
Tightening the rules of mobilization in Ukraine will have limited effect. This was stated by political analyst Alexander Semchenko in an interview with Izvestia.
"I do not predict a qualitative leap. In rural areas, the population density is lower, meaning there are fewer potential recruits per unit area. Besides, it's easier for people to hide there, plus they are more organized than urban residents, they will be able to unite and neutralize one or two inspectors," he stressed.
Semchenko also added that he is skeptical about attempts to strengthen digital control over conscripts. According to him, prolonged power outages have become regular in Ukraine, communications and the Internet are lost, so it is problematic to implement the wishes of the military in this area.
Earlier on December 28, the Government of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill that proposes to create territorial recruitment centers (TCCs, an analogue of military enlistment offices in Ukraine) in villages.
On December 8, the commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, said that mobilization could be intensified in the country. According to him, Russia continues its offensive, so the Ukrainian Armed Forces need to increase their defense capabilities and strengthen their troops.
