A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops liberated the village of Boguslavka in the Kharkiv region. In addition, two attacks by Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Blagodatovka and Velikaya Shapkovka with the aim of breaking into Kupyansk were repelled in the Kupyansk direction. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 190 militants, a US-made HMMWV armored fighting vehicle, a field artillery cannon, 18 vehicles, an electronic warfare station and five ammunition depots.

Also, as a result of active actions, the Dnepr group of troops took control of the Lukyanovskoye settlement in the Zaporizhia region and defeated the AFU formations in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

"The units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, infantry, airmobile, amphibious assault brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a defense brigade and a National Guard brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Grishino, Novoaleksandrovka, New Donbass, Toretsky, Shevchenko of the Donetsk People's Republic, Novopavlovka and Novopodgorodny, Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy's losses amounted to more than 470 military personnel, three armored personnel carriers manufactured by NATO countries, three armored combat vehicles, five vehicles and two artillery pieces," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy facilities used in the interests of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces, nationalists and foreign mercenaries in 150 areas.

In turn, the air defense systems shot down three HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 18 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 105,823 UAVs, 641 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,796 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,634 multiple rocket launchers, 32,260 field artillery and mortars, 50,404 units of special vehicles.
