Weak magnetic storms and auroras will be observed in Russia on New Year's Eve. This was announced on December 30 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS.

"According to the models, this time interval accounts for the coincidence of two factors at once: the impact from a small coronal hole currently observed in the northern hemisphere of the Sun, and the arrival to Earth of the edge of a plasma cloud ejected from the Sun as a result of a series of M-class flares on the night from Sunday to Monday," the Telegram channel says.
