The air temperature in Moscow will range from -7 to -5 degrees during the day. At night, the thermometer will drop to -10.

In the Moscow region, it will be from -9 to -4 degrees during the day, and at night the temperature may drop to -13 degrees.

A light and westerly wind with a speed of 3-8 m/s is expected.

Atmospheric pressure will be 728-729 mmHg.

In the European part of the country, the temperature will be below normal, and in Siberia — from an abnormal -49 to a thaw.

Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia on December 29 that the coldest night of the New Year holidays would be the night of next Friday, January 2. It is expected that then the air temperature in the capital will be able to reach from -14 to -16 degrees, and in the region it will drop to -19 degrees.
