The State Duma proposed to increase payments for the care of disabled children to the minimum wage

Deputies of the State Duma (State Duma) from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) proposed to increase the amount of social benefits for the care of children with disabilities and those with disabilities from childhood of the first group to the minimum wage (minimum wage). This is evidenced by the corresponding appeal on December 30.

"Parents and other persons caring for children with disabilities and those with disabilities from childhood of group I perform not only an important social function, but also invest significant efforts in the upbringing, harmonious development and adaptation of the child," explained Alexei Kurinny, deputy of the State Duma from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is specified that the parliamentarians sent the proposal to the head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation Anton Vaino. Kurinny also noted that the amount of the discussed payment is now 10,950 rubles, and the minimum wage in 2025 is 22,440 rubles.

They propose to take into account not the cost of living, but the consumer budget.

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said on the MAX social network that the law on increasing the minimum wage by more than 20%, as well as the law on indexation of insurance pensions by 7.6%, will enter into force on January 1, 2026. The parliamentarian clarified that in 2026 the living wage and a number of social benefits will increase.
