The State Duma reported an increase in the cost of buying pension points in 2026

The cost of buying one pension point in 2026 will increase to 65.6 thousand rubles. This was announced on December 30 by Ekaterina Stenyakina, deputy of the State Duma, member of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"In 2026, the cost of one additional pension point and one year of service will amount to 65.6 thousand rubles," she said in an interview with TASS.

As explained by State Duma deputy Ekaterina Stenyakina, in order to receive an old-age insurance pension, Russians need to have at least 30 pension points and at least 15 years of experience. If these indicators are not enough, citizens can apply to the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) for voluntary entry into the compulsory pension insurance system and purchase the missing points.

In 2026, it will be possible to purchase a maximum of 8.7 retirement points. However, as Stenyakina clarified, for citizens other than the self-employed, there is a restriction: no more than half the length of service (7.5 years) It will be possible to purchase through the payment of voluntary contributions.

The application can be submitted through the Gosuslugi portal or face-to-face at the SFR branch. The application will need to specify the basis for registration, for example, if the citizen is self-employed, an individual entrepreneur, or pays dues for a non-working spouse.
