"The Russian army has the full strategic initiative, and the West understands this," Lavrov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

In addition, he recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, said that the objectives of the special operation (SVO) would be achieved, preferably through negotiation, but, if necessary, by military means.
