Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on holding an International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg in September 2026. This was confirmed on December 29 by documents published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"To hold an International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg in September 2026," the document says.

It also decides to approve the regulations on the organizing committee and the presidium of this event. The decree that has entered into force also obliges the Government of the Russian Federation to develop measures necessary for the festival within three months, as well as determine the sources of its financing.

In his address to the participants of the Peoples of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) festival on October 31, Putin pointed to the centuries-old desire of the Russian Federation to increase good neighborliness and mutual enrichment of national cultures. According to the Russian president, the country has always sought to strengthen friendship and trust with other states.
