The Chinese Jaecoo J7 crossover may be launched in Russia at two plants in St. Petersburg at once. This was reported on December 29 by the Telegram channel of the Chinese Cars portal.

According to him, the model is currently undergoing certification both at the former General Motors plant in Shushary and at the former Hyundai factory in Sestroretsk. This follows from the declarations of conformity, which are necessary for the Registration of vehicle type approval (OTT).

According to the publication, the Jaecoo J7 is certified in Russia, including under the alternative brand Jeland, such a crossover can receive the VT7 index. The range of power units of this model can include 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines, similar engines are installed on the Jaecoo J7.

The Jaecoo J7 is a compact crossover based on the modular architecture of the T1X and looks similar to the Range Rover Evoque. The length of the model is 4500-4600 mm, depending on the modification. The price range of the J7 modifications for the 2025 model year is 2.76 million — 3.51 million rubles.

Earlier, on December 24, Jaecoo held a private screening of the new J6 crossover in Moscow. The model is scheduled to go on sale in the late I – early II quarter of 2026. The brand's representative office also said that the J7 Limited Edition crossover will be included in the brand's permanent line. It is already being delivered to dealers, and official sales will begin soon.
