On December 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out the prospects for the complete liberation of the territory of Donbass.
"The liberation of Seversk and effective work in Konstantinovka allows the troops <...>, in cooperation with the Zapad and Center troops, to completely liberate the territory of Donbass," Putin said at a meeting on the situation in the special military operation zone (SVO).
The President noted that the Southern Group of Troops is demonstrating a good pace in this area. He also thanked the servicemen for their successful work, saying that he had already spoken with their commander and asked them to convey his best wishes and gratitude to his subordinates for their successful work.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Army General Valery Gerasimov noted that in December, the Russian military took control of 32 settlements, 334 in a year. Gerasimov stressed that the tasks of liberating the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and Lugansk People's Republic (LNR), the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions will be continued in accordance with the plan.
