The Central Bank called maintaining a high key rate unjustified

Maintaining a high key rate for several more months in the face of slowing economic growth may not be justified. This was announced by the Central Bank of Russia on December 29.

"Keeping the key rate at the current high level for several months (until March) in the face of slowing economic growth may prove unjustified, lead to excessive cooling and a significant deviation of inflation down from the target in the future," the summary of the discussion says, TASS reports.
