- Zaluzhny's adviser denied his intention to resign from the post of ambassador to Britain.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny is not going to leave his post in January. This was announced on December 29 by Oksana Torop, a media adviser to Zaluzhny.
"Nothing has changed. He continues to defend the interests of Ukraine as ambassador to the United Kingdom," Ukrayinska Pravda quoted her as saying on its Telegram channel.
Torop also sarcastically clarified that "unnamed sources" know everything about Zaluzhny and his plans.
Earlier that day, the Ukrainian radio station Radio NV reported that Zaluzhny was preparing to leave his diplomatic post in London in early January next year. It was noted that prior to this, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and the ambassador discussed various positions for him — from prime minister to head of the presidential office. However, Zaluzhny then did not show proper interest in these posts.
