After two years of record figures, the German authorities have significantly reduced the volume of exports of military products to Ukraine in 2025. This was reported by Spiegel magazine on December 29.

"The German government has issued export licenses for weapons and other military equipment worth €8.40 billion between January 1 and December 8, 2025," the material says.

At the same time, for comparison, in previous years the volumes were significantly higher: €13.33 billion in 2024 and €12.15 billion in 2023, which was a record for the entire observation period.

It is noted that the sharpest drop was recorded in terms of supplies destined for Ukraine. According to German Secretary of State Thomas Steffen, the cost of licenses issued this year for Kiev amounted to only €1.14 billion, while for the whole of 2024 this figure reached €8.15 billion.

The draft resolution of the Bundestag from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) faction on December 18 noted that Germany should stop supporting Ukraine in order for Kiev to agree to negotiate peace. In particular, to stop all financial and military support from Germany to Ukraine.

On December 10, the Bild newspaper reported that the German ruling coalition had agreed on a 10-point plan for intensive military cooperation with Ukraine. Germany also planned to increase the share of the German arms business in Ukraine and ensure a constant exchange of views on the needs of various types of weapons.
