Menshova pointed out the nobility and dignity of the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Alentova

People's Artist of Russia Vera Alentova, until the last days of her life, behaved with incredible nobility and dignity. This was announced on December 29 by her daughter, actress and TV presenter Yulia Menshova at a farewell ceremony at the Moscow Pushkin Theater.

"My mother's fate is not exceptional, this is how all adult actors who serve in this theater are treated. And they all work until the very end, they are taken care of and treated with great respect. <...> It was important for my mother to feel needed, interesting, in demand, and modern enough," Menshova noted.

She thanked the theater in which her mother had served for 60 years, and went on stage with new performances. Menshova stressed that everyone knew and adored Alentova as an actress, and they were also very familiar with her role as a mother, grandmother, and family man.

"I always said in interviews that I admire my mother, she has always been a role model for me. Despite the fact that she is my relative, she is a rare woman who managed to be elegant and beautiful. And in circumstances where others would have behaved badly, she managed to keep this brand," said the daughter.

She added that on a sad day for everyone, she is comforted by the fact that her mother passed away exactly the way she wanted.

"In our family, the topic of death has never been taboo. <...> My mother and I have discussed this very often, literally in recent years. They were giving me some instructions. She discussed this topic with me and told me not to become a burden. And the Lord heard her," Menshova said.

Recently, Vera Alentova found it difficult to walk up the stairs, and her daughter, accompanying her, always held the actress' hand.

"But this time she ran up the stairs like she was 20 years old. That was what she was all about. She took off and left. With incredible nobility and dignity. She was such an amazing woman," Yulia Menshova said.

To play on stage, the actress failed the exams at the medical institute.

Farewell to the artist takes place at the Moscow Pushkin Theater. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a wreath to the ceremony. Alentova will be buried at the Novodevichy cemetery next to her husband, People's Artist of the RSFSR Vladimir Menshov.

The death of the actress became known earlier on December 25, she died at the age of 84. The source of Izvestia reported that Alentova was hospitalized in a state of clinical death after the farewell ceremony with actor Anatoly Lobotsky — her heart stopped. Later, the cause of the artist's death became known — she died due to a blood clot rupture.
