The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed support for efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

China is making efforts to promote the peace process in Ukraine. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a briefing on December 29.

"The Chinese side supports all efforts to contribute to a peaceful resolution of this crisis, and hopes that all parties, through dialogue and negotiations, will be able to reach a just, long—term and binding peace agreement as soon as possible," TASS quoted a representative of the ministry as saying.

In response to statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about China's alleged lack of readiness for the peace process, Lin Jian noted that China maintains contacts with both sides of the Ukrainian conflict and stressed that China's role in the process is "obvious to the international community."
