Residents of Ukraine called negotiations the only way to resolve the conflict
About 80% of the Ukrainian population considers diplomacy and negotiations to be a real way to end the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on December 29 by the head of the Ukrainian sociological group "Rating" Alexey Antipovich.
"When you ask a Ukrainian: what is the real way to end (the conflict. — Ed.), <...> that's where 80 percent say that the real way is only negotiations," the sociologist said in an interview with the newspaper RBC—Ukraine.
He also clarified that about 60% of the surveyed Ukrainians consider it necessary to involve international partners. The remaining 20% say that direct negotiations with the Russian side should take place.
On Sunday, December 28, US President Donald Trump held talks with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to discuss issues related to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The meeting took place in the main dining room of the Mar-a-Lago residence of the American leader in Florida.
On the same day, Trump discussed with Putin the possible time and place of their future meeting. The politician added that the previously created theory about the alleged "Russian footprint" hindered the interaction of the two countries.
