- Timma's heirs demanded to include three more apartments in the lawsuit against Sedokova.
The lawsuit of the heirs of Latvian basketball player Janis Timma against his ex-wife, singer Anna Sedokova, demanded to include several more apartments in the Moscow elite residential complex. Lawyer Margarita Gavrilova told Izvestia about this on December 29.
An application demanding the inclusion of three more properties in the athlete's estate was filed with the Ostankino District Court of Moscow. In the lawsuit, the basketball player's relatives demand to establish the amount of inherited property, recognize the share of his heirs and recover funds from Sedokova.
We are talking about apartments purchased and sold during the marriage of the singer and the basketball player. Two of them — in the residential complex "Scarlet Sails" and the residential complex "Heart of the Capital" — were known earlier. However, according to the notary, the couple purchased two more objects. According to Gavrilova, they could have been reissued to third parties.
The lawyer pointed out the circumstances related to Sedokova's daughter from her first marriage, Alina Belkevich. According to Gavrilova, in court documents filed with the Kiev court, the girl indicated her permanent place of residence, study and work in the United States in order to distance herself from her mother in the context of Ukrainian legislation. At the same time, according to the lawyer, Belkevich retains registration on the territory of the Russian Federation, including at the addresses of apartments found in the capital.
Based on this, Gavrilova concluded that all five apartments were sold after the conclusion of the prenuptial agreement, and Sedokova received all the proceeds. In addition, she pointed out the contradiction between the applications for residence abroad and the fact of having a Russian registration.
In August, it was reported that Timma's family intends to file a lawsuit to challenge his prenuptial agreement with Sedokova. Gavrilova explained that if Timma's family manages to recognize the prenuptial agreement with Sedokova as invalid or void, they will be able to challenge the deals concluded on its basis. In this case, the singer may be charged for the sold apartments, and she will be obliged to return part or all of their value.
The body of the 32-year-old basketball player was found in Moscow on December 17, 2024, and the investigation revealed that he had committed suicide. A week before the tragedy, Timma and Sedokova officially divorced. Before he died, he left a note asking him to contact his ex-wife. The basketball player's body was taken to Latvia for burial on December 25. The farewell ceremony took place in Riga on December 27.
