Moscow has opened traffic on the overpass along the main course of the Warsaw highway, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his channel in the MAX. The facility was built as part of the construction of the final section of the Solntsevo —Butovo —Varshavskoye highway.

The launch of the three-lane overpass in each direction will allow for the continuation of the comprehensive reconstruction of the Warsaw Highway near the intersection with the highway under construction, Sobyanin said. He stressed that the work was carried out on one of Moscow's busiest transport arteries "in difficult, cramped conditions."

The overpass is expected to provide a convenient exit and entrance to Varshavskoye Highway from Rastorguyevsky Highway and Bolshaya Butovskaya Street, eliminating the intersection of traffic flows. By eliminating the traffic light intersection along the main route of the outbound highway, the capacity of the Warsaw Highway will increase, the mayor emphasized.

The construction of the Solntsevo— Butovo— Varshavskoye highway will be completed in 2026. It will connect five outbound highways and will be connected to the Moscow High-speed Diameter. During the work on the final part of the route, 14.3 km of roads will be built and reconstructed, including one overpass, tunnel, two overpasses and 9 off-street pedestrian crossings.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
