Farewell to People's Artist of the Russian Federation Vera Alentova has begun at the Pushkin Theater.

Dozens of people gathered outside the Pushkin Theater in Moscow to say goodbye to People's Artist of Russia Vera Alentova. The footage is published by Izvestia on December 29.

People with flowers came to see the actress off on her last journey. Next to the main entrance of the theater there are portraits of Alentova in different years of service on the stage of the theater. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a wreath to the farewell ceremony with the actress.

The farewell to the actress will take place from 11:00 to 13:00 on the stage of the Pushkin Theater. Then she will be buried at the Novodevichy cemetery next to her husband, People's Artist of the RSFSR Vladimir Menshov.

To play on stage, the actress failed the exams at the medical institute.

Alentova's death at the age of 83 became known on December 25. Footage of Alentova's hospitalization after visiting the Mayakovsky Theater, where the farewell ceremony with actor Anatoly Lobotsky was held, was also published. The source of Izvestia reported that Alentova was hospitalized in a state of clinical death — her heart stopped. Later, the cause of the artist's death became known — she died as a result of a blood clot rupture.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the death of Alentova. The Head of State stressed that the memory of Alentova will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues and all fans of her talent.
