Oil prices rose after talks between the Presidents of the United States, Donald Trump, and Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on December 29.

Brent crude futures rose to $61.27 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose to $57.32 per barrel.

Yang An, an analyst at Haitong Futures, noted that the rise in oil prices is also influenced by general geopolitical tensions, which also affect the situation in the Middle East.

Trump and Zelensky held a meeting at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on December 28. The leaders discussed security guarantees for Kiev and US economic assistance for the reconstruction of Ukraine. The negotiations took place at the dinner table.

Later, Trump said that he had a wonderful meeting with the Ukrainian leader. In his opinion, the parties are much closer to an agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
