In Russia, the share of non-cash payments will grow and will exceed 90% by 2030. This was announced on December 29 by Alla Bakina, Director of the Department of the National Payment System of the Bank of Russia.
"It is obvious that the share of non-cash payments will continue to grow. It is still very high today, so every next percentage point is achieved with great effort. In the first nine months of 2025, the share of cashless payments amounted to 87.8%. <...> I think by 2030 we will exceed the threshold of 90%," TASS quoted Bakina as saying.
She noted that these are huge numbers and such a leap has occurred over the past 10 years.
Bakina also recalled that in 2013-2014, this share was less than 20%.
